In short, Self confidence is the feeling of assurance and believing in our ability to do things.

And here's good news...Self confidence can be learnt and built.

So you can learn and build self confidence in yourselves. I and many people around this world also learn and build confidence in ourselves.

Here are great steps to gain self confidence :

  1. State what you want to achieve firmly.
  2. Aware of your thoughts. Do you hear any negativity voice in your head?
  3. If yes, Ask yourself "If I keep thinking like these, shall I do it best as I want?".

    What's your answer?.

    Next time, if you aware of negativity voice again, you can just acknowledge it by saying "Thanks for sharing" and move on to next step.

    Or you can tap yourself with EFT when you aware of negative voice.

    Or you can role play the "doubt it" conversation to improve self confidence. Here is a "doubt it" conversation sample for self confidence building in doing something for the 1st time.

  4. Ask yourself useful questions like "what shall I do more to gain more confidence?"
  5. After getting answers, practice more..to feel more certain to do things you want to do. Repetition is the mother of skill.
  6. You can practice doing it or visualizing doing it.

    Like to gain more confidence in speaking in front of class/team, you can prepare your speech. Then practice speaking your speech. Or you can practice by visualizing that you're giving the speech.

    Tips: You can use 3-2-1 method from Silva to get to alpha state before your practice.

  7. Say "I can do it" or "If one man can do it, I can do it". Say it firmly, strongly and surely. And repeat saying until you feel confident. Anthony Hopkins's movie, the edge, will be a good teacher for this tip to gain more confidence in yourself.

You can also use tapping with EFT technique to help you clear negative emotions like fear, anxiety, etc before using the above steps.

From my "confidence help self" experience, it helps me in many situations....performing a dance in front of schoolmate...presenting solutions to customer...public speaking...and many more.
